Some objects carry more than their own history. They hold the rooms we once gathered in, the people who sat across from us and the small rituals that shaped a childhood. This familiar box belongs in CASA because ordinary things often remember what we have forgotten.
Before instructions came on a screen, we learned by gathering around the board. We counted the spaces, guarded our pieces and waited our turn. We all knew the rules.
But the story of Parcheesi began far from the American homes that claimed it as a childhood tradition. We will follow that journey in Issue No. 2, What Makes an American?
