An Unintended Portrait
A couple of years ago, I was walking along the St. Lawrence River in Clayton, New York, camera in hand, hoping to capture a little of the beauty along the waterfront.
And there she was.
A lady in blue, sitting so elegantly beneath the trees, looking out across the river.
There was something stoic about her. A quiet strength in her posture, a certain dignity in the way she occupied that little space against the vastness of the water.
I couldn't help but photograph her.
Her small, quiet presence, preserved in the stillness of time.
Nothing was planned. Nothing was arranged.
It wasn't planned. It was beauty, just waiting to be noticed.
