CASA de Rosa Maria is a place for stories worth noticing.
I created CASA as a place for my writing and photography and for the things I find interesting along the way.
I have always been curious about people. I love hearing their stories and learning how they got where they are. I am drawn to old places, gardens, homes, things that have been saved, people who know how to make or fix things, and those ordinary moments that can become something special when we stop long enough to notice them.
I am Rose DiVirgilio. I love to write and I am a hobbyist photographer living in North Carolina. I am still learning photography and I hope I always will be. For me, carrying a camera has simply given me another reason to look closer.
I spent much of my working life listening to people, asking questions and helping them make sense of complicated things. Retirement has given me the time to follow my curiosity in a different way.
Sometimes that curiosity takes me into an old building. Sometimes into a workshop. Sometimes down a road I have never traveled before. And sometimes the story is sitting right in my own backyard.
CASA is not about telling people how to live.
It is simply about noticing how people live.
Some of the stories will be personal. Some will be about people I meet. Others may begin with a photograph, a place, an object, or something I almost walked past.
CASA means home.
I hope this feels a little like one.
A place where you can come in, look around, stay awhile and perhaps notice something you might otherwise have missed.
Welcome to CASA.
